Connection at your own pace
If you’re someone who doesn’t love networking, you’re in good company. A brief, optional introduction activity will help guests exchange names and discover something they have in common. There will also be plenty of time for professional networking, catching up with friends or simply enjoying the company of others.
You don’t need to know the host or anyone attending. Whether you’re seeking new connections, coming to support the cause or looking for an evening out, you’re welcome here.
Why this cause matters
Infertility and pregnancy loss touch people in our families, friendships and workplaces. The World Health Organization estimates that about one in six people of reproductive age worldwide experiences infertility during their lifetime. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists reports that early pregnancy loss occurs in about one in ten known pregnancies.
These experiences can remain deeply private, even as people continue showing up for work and everyday responsibilities. Creating greater awareness makes room for understanding and support, while respecting each person’s choice about what they share.
RESOLVE provides community, education and advocacy for people navigating infertility and family building, including free support groups. For host Yolanda Fraction, author of Joyful Workplaces, that community has offered something especially important: hearing that she is not alone.
The story behind the evening
November marks both Yolanda’s birthday and the anniversary of a loss. This year, for the first time, it was on her heart to mark her birthday by giving back to an organization and community that have given so much to her during a difficult time.
Her work and personal experiences have reinforced how much community matters. Each of us carries an invisible backpack of experiences, responsibilities, hopes and challenges that others may never see.
Early in the evening, Yolanda will briefly share her story and introduce RESOLVE. The rest of the gathering is open for conversation, food and connection beyond our job titles.
If you or someone you care about has navigated infertility or pregnancy loss, consider joining in their honor. No personal connection to the cause is needed, and there is no expectation to share your own experience.
Make an evening of it
Bring a date, gather your friends for a girls’ night out or meet up with colleagues after work. Following the social hour, guests who would like to linger are welcome to visit the adjoining 18th & 21st for live jazz, dessert or another drink, available for individual purchase.
