About this Event
Are you running a social enterprise, planning to start one, or simply interested in creating positive social impact through business?
Following the success of our social enterprise event in September, and in response to requests for ongoing opportunities to connect, we're excited to launch a regular Social Enterprise Meet-Up. This session brings together social entrepreneurs, aspiring founders, community organisations, and changemakers to learn from experts, share experiences, and build valuable local connections.
What to Expect
Workshop: 16.15 – 17.15 Introduction to grant-fundraising
We'll be streaming a workshop delivered by the British Library, providing practical insights and guidance for social enterprises.
This taster session will give you a better understanding of the grant fundraising landscape and how to increase your grant application success. You will learn what grants are for, why funders choose to fund different enterprises, who funders are and where the best places to find them are.
Presented by Yemisi Mokuolu, business coach, consultant and independent producer. Through Hatch Ideas Worldwide, she coaches entrepreneurs and leadership teams to build sustainable businesses, strengthen strategy and become grant ready.
Please note, the speakers will not be in Manchester, this is a live streaming from the British Library.
Networking with Like-Minded Entrepreneurs: 17.15 – 18.00
After the streamed British Library workshop, there will be plenty of time to connect with fellow attendees, exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and discover opportunities for collaboration. Whether you're at the idea stage or already running an established social enterprise, this is a welcoming space to build your network and learn from others on a similar journey.
Help Shape Future Meet-Ups
This event isn't just about learning and networking. It's also an opportunity for you to influence the direction of future gatherings. We'll be inviting attendees to share their thoughts on:
- Topics they'd like explored at future events
- Guest speakers and workshop ideas
- Collaboration opportunities
- Support and resources needed within the local social enterprise community
Your feedback will help create a meet-up programme that reflects the needs and interests of the people attending.
Places are free but booking is essential. We look forward to welcoming you and continuing to build a supportive and collaborative social enterprise network together.
This event is part of Build A Business in GM Libraries funded by Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the UK Government.
