About this Event
As healthcare accelerates toward a more interoperable, patient-centered future, the HIMSS Southern California Winter Collaborative will convene industry leaders to explore how connected care is transforming the delivery of health services across the continuum.
This full-day symposium brings together CIOs, CMIOs, CNIOs, CTOs, clinical leaders, and innovators to examine the critical building blocks required to enable connected care from modern infrastructure and data integration to operational readiness and patient engagement. Participants will gain insights from keynote speakers and expert panels on how leading organizations are:
- Building scalable, secure platforms to support real-time data sharing
- Aligning clinical workflows and operational models to fully realize the promise of digital health
- Leveraging patient-reported data and mobile technologies to drive engagement and outcomes
- Navigating governance, culture, and leadership challenges to ensure successful transformation
- Partnering with industry innovators to accelerate care delivery beyond traditional settings
The event also features interactive breakout sessions and an Innovation Lab, where attendees will engage in real-world use cases, explore emerging technologies—including wearable devices, AI-driven tools, and care-at-home solutions—and collaborate with peers on practical approaches to implementation. Set in a highly interactive environment, the Winter Collaborative emphasizes peer-to-peer learning, cross-industry collaboration, and actionable insights that attendees can take back to their organizations.
Join us for a dynamic day of learning, networking, and innovation as we shape the future of connected care across Southern California and beyond.

Registration & Networking
🕑: 08:30 AM - 09:00 AM
Opening Keynote: Connected Care Initiatives
Info: Connected care has moved past the pilot stage at most health systems, and the hard part is no longer the technology. This session lays out where Southern California organizations are investing, where results are showing up and where the gaps between strategy and the bedside remain.
🕑: 09:00 AM - 09:45 AM
Technology Platforms & Integration
Host: Shelby Guelff, Sr Dir, Enter Apps, Clinica Sierra Vista
Info: Every connected care program runs into the same question: what has to talk to what, and who owns it when it breaks. Panelists discuss platform selection, integration with the EHR and existing infrastructure, and the security and interoperability tradeoffs that come with each added point of connection.
🕑: 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM
Operational Readiness for Connected Care
Host: Amber Senteno, CTBO, City of Hope
Info: A platform can be live and still not be used. This panel looks at what has to be in place before go-live, including staffing models, clinical workflow redesign, training and the governance that keeps a program from quietly stalling six months in.

Break
🕑: 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM
Patient Engagement & Data
Host: Manuel Pedroza, Chief Information Officer
Info: Health systems now collect more patient-generated data than most can act on. Panelists discuss how to turn engagement into measurable outcomes, which data actually earns its place in clinical decisions and how to protect patient trust and privacy along the way.
🕑: 11:45 AM - 12:45 PM
Networking Lunch
🕑: 01:00 PM - 01:30 PM
Afternoon Keynote: Future of Mobile Health
Host: Lisa Fort, VP Virtual Care Transformation, Ochsner
Info: Lisa Birdsall Fort shares how Ochsner Health has approached virtual care at scale. She covers what it took to move from individual programs to a system-wide model, and what other health systems can learn from it.
🕑: 01:30 PM - 02:15 PM
Organizational & Board Alignment
Host: Tracy Donegan, CIIO, MLK
Info: Connected care investments compete with every other capital priority, and boards want evidence. This panel covers how CIOs and digital leaders make the case, set realistic expectations on return and keep executive and board support through a multi-year build.
🕑: 02:15 PM - 03:45 PM
Breakouts & Innovation Lab: Connected Care Use Cases
Info: Small-group working sessions built around real use cases from the region’s health systems. Attendees compare approaches with peers facing the same constraints and leave with specific ideas to test in their own organizations.
