Winter Strong: Injury-Prevention Workshop for Women
Snow season brings its own set of demands on the body — icy footing, heavy shoveling, cold-stiffened muscles, and sports like skiing and snowboarding that ask a lot from your knees, hips, and core.
Brought to you by Amy Harris, Certified Menopause Practitioner at Full Season Wellness, and PT Halle Phillips at Summit PT & Performance, this session covers practical, evidence-based strategies that will make a difference this winter season:
- Dynamic warm-ups suited to cold weather,
- Strength and stability exercises that protect vulnerable joints (especially knees and ankles)
- Balance drills for slippery surfaces
- Simple mobility routines you can do at home without complicated equipment.
We'll also cover how hormonal shifts can make it easier for you to hurt yourself, even if you're doing the same things you've always done. Learn about common winter injuries, from falls to overuse strains, and how to spot early warning signs before they become real problems.
Whether you ski, snowboard, walk icy sidewalks, or just want to stay active all winter, you'll leave with a personalized toolkit for staying strong, mobile, and injury-free. No experience necessary — just comfortable clothing and an open mind.
