Every autumn, the Windsor International Film Festival brings thousands of passionate movie lovers downtown. We genuinely love WIFF and the incredible culture it brings to the city, so much so that we booked our own smell-based acronym right across the street. Naturally, SNIFF was the punchline that wrote itself.
SNIFF is a live, unfiltered stand-up comedy series taking over Meteor Lounge (138 University Ave W) during festival week. It has zero official connection to WIFF—just a massive respect for downtown Windsor, local creativity, and a name so delightfully stupid it would be a crime not to use it.
Whether you need a break from highbrow cinema, a pre-show drink, or a place to land after a long movie marathon, drop in before, after, or between screenings for three nights of hilarious, raw stand-up..
SNIFF is three live stand-up nights across the street from the Windsor International Film Festival:
Night 1: Thursday, October 29 – The Dirty Show
WIFF officially kicks off tonight, which means high art is officially in session across the street. If you prefer your entertainment a little more lowbrow, cross the road for The Dirty Show. This is our unapologetically adult-themed set—filthy, hilarious, and completely unpasteurized. Consider it the ultimate palate cleanser after sitting quietly through a three-hour foreign film subtitled in despair.
Night 2: Thursday, November 5 – The WIFF Volunteer Appreciation Showcase
Running an 11-day festival takes an army, and the WIFF volunteers are the unsung heroes holding it all together. Tonight is dedicated to you. The WIFF Volunteer Appreciation Showcase features fresh, experimental formats and top-tier live stand-up. Whether you just wrapped a grueling shift ripping tickets, came into town for the films, or you’re just one of our regular local degenerates, consider this a giant, hilarious thank-you for keeping the downtown energy alive. Flash your volunteer badge for a well-earned laugh.
Night 3: Saturday, November 7 – The SNIFF Finale
This is it—the final curtain for the run. We are closing out festival week with a bang as Paul Montanier headlines, taking the stage to drop some fresh, hilarious new material. It is your last chance to catch the mayhem before we pack up, wash our hands, and go home. Come out, grab a drink, and help us send off SNIFF in style.
