🍌 Build Your Own Food World!Reggio Emilia Style × Sensory Play × Food Design Atelier
What if we gave children the opportunity to see the world of food through their eyes, not ours? What if food could become a material for imagination, storytelling, building, experimenting and connection?
The Snack Imagination Workshop is a playful, sensory atelier where children explore food not only as something to eat, but as something to touch, transform, design, imagine and experience.
Inspired by sensory play and food design thinking, children are invited to follow their own curiosity. There is no right or wrong outcome. They might discover a new texture, create a flavour combination, build a tiny food landscape or edible painting, experiment with tools, invent a story, or simply find a new way of interacting with food.
The Reggio Emilia approach is viewing children as capable thinkers and who use “hundred languages” to express their ideas and themselves, here food becomes one of those languages.
Children are given tools and materials to discover possibilities rather than being told exactly what to make and how.
🍌 This month’s theme: The Classic Banana Split
Using bananas, yogurt, biscuits and various toppings, ingredients will be gathered from around the room and transformed into edible worlds.
And then… what can we create with the banana peel? 🍌✨

Who are the organizers?
I am LeAnna, I am a food designer and through this workshop I aim to understand how food, sensory play and child development can strengthen each other. My goal is to provide a fun and safe environment for exploration, to make children the protagonists of their learning, imagination and eating. The space:
Fishead Lab is a multidisciplinary space founded in Milan, by curators and artists.
