🥑 600 FREE SMASHED AVO WRAPS. ONE HOUSING LOOPHOLE TO CLOSE.On Friday 9 October, a group of volunteers from across Sydney will be at Green Park, Darlinghurst, with an OzHarvest food truck handing out 600 free smashed avocado wraps.
📍 Green Park, Darlinghurst — opposite St Vincent’s Hospital
🗓 Friday 9 October
⏰ 10:00am–3:30pm
For years, smashed avocado has been used as a joke about why younger Australians struggle to afford housing. Affordable Forever is turning the smashed-avo cliché on its head to make a serious point: don’t blame people’s breakfast choices for housing unaffordability — it’s time to fix the broken planning rules that are making housing affordability worse.
Green Park, where the event will take place, is next to the St Vincent’s Hospital precinct and the National Art School, and is also a short drive from The Chimes in Potts Point, the development featured in the ABC Four Corners program, where 80 existing smaller apartments are proposed to be replaced as part of a James Packer-backed luxury redevelopment.
Come by, grab a wrap and learn more about the campaign.
