Discover how a new generation of compact, computerized “smart telescopes” is making astronomy and astrophotography more accessible than ever. These instruments can automatically locate, track, and photograph galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, and other celestial objects, even from light-polluted locations.

Rick Beal, a member of the Northeast Wisconsin Stargazers (NEWSTAR), will explain how smart telescopes work, demonstrate the kinds of images they can produce, and discuss their advantages and limitations. The presentation is intended for anyone interested in astronomy, from curious beginners to experienced amateur astronomers.
