★ Mieko Suzuki
Mieko Suzuki is a DJ, sound artist, musician, and composer based in Berlin. Her practice is rooted in the materiality of time and space and altered states of consciousness. Working across club culture, dance performance, theatre, and exhibitions, she approaches sound as an active force that transforms perception, embodied experience, and collective action.
Suzuki is a member of the Berlin-based improvisation trio Contagious, alongside Andrea Neumann and Sabine Ercklentz. The trio brings together avant-garde experimentation and electronic music. In Broken Vinyl, an ongoing audiovisual collaboration with visual artist Claudia Rohrmoser, damaged records, glitches, skips, and fragments of sound become the raw material for an improvisatory practice shaped by distortion and disruption. Since 2009, Suzuki and Arno Raffeiner have co-hosted KOOKOO, a multidisciplinary event combining experimental music and art, held every other month at OHM in Berlin.
Her distinctive sonic language, characterised by precision, physicality, and a tactile approach to sound, has evolved through long-term collaborations with choreographer Meg Stuart, theatre director Johan Simons, and the avant-garde techno label Raster. Suzuki adapts her sound practice to diverse contexts, from underground clubs and contemporary dance to theatre productions, visual art installations, and haute couture, continually exploring how sound shapes the experience of space, bodies, and narrative.
Her work has been presented at international festivals and venues including A L’ARME! Festival (Germany), Angelica Festival (Italy), Berghain (Germany), CTM Festival (Germany), Hamburger Bahnhof (Germany), Kunsthal Charlottenborg (Denmark), MUTEK Tokyo (Japan), Météo Festival (France), NAHArt (Japan), Ruhrtriennale (Germany), Sajeta (Slovenia), Sanatorium of Sound (Poland), Sonambiente (Germany), Taktlos Festival (Switzerland), and ZKM (Germany), among others.

★ Reverse Bullets
ReVerse Bullets is a rotating lineup of filmmakers, musicians and visual artists founded by filmmaker Jon-Carlos Evans in New York City in 2009. Current active members include Evans as Klaas von Karlos, composer/engineer Kevin Ramsay and multi-instrumentalist Kim Vu. Reaching into and bending genres such as IDM, industrial, trip-hop, noise and punk, Reverse Bullets exists as pure cyberphunk. Analog glitch effects collide with urban found footage by way of vibrant controlled video feedback, underpinned by the lyrical themes of Afrofuturism, surveillance culture, technocratic dystopias and existential technologies of liberation.
In 2011, the project released its first first video exclusive single “10-31-10” produced by Aftermarket. The debut audiovisual release, 2012’s “Drapetomania!” was nominated for “Best Mashup” at the MashRome 2013 Film Festival. The audiovisual album’s video-song singles – “Pale Castle,” “(Sub)Version), and “(Extra)Version,” were selected to screen at the 2013 Bilbao Experimental Film & Video Festival, the Museo d’arte Contemporanea Roma, Acquario Romano – Roma, and the Instituto Cervantes-Berlin. 2020’s “US” from the EP “Stockholm Syndrome” was selected for the New York Live Arts exhibition “Curating the End of the World,” organized by Dr. Reynaldo Anderson, Tiffany E. Barber and Stacey Robinson at the Times Art Center. In 2020, they released the project “Dreamop Dysphoria,” a concept album supported by Harvestworks Media Center and Elektronmusikstudion Stockholm. The music video single “Replikant”featuring author/musician Jamika Ajalon was displayed in the exhibit “Coming Suddenly, Passing Strangely” at the SPACES Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio.
In this iteration of the group’s lineup, Klaas von Karlos and Kim Vu are joined by author/multidisciplinary artist Jamika Ajalon to present an audiovisual performance that explores the the group’s discography with live revisionings, improvisations and a preview of their current work in progress – “The Johari Window.”

smallforms is a platform and music label for contemporary and experimental forms of music. the monthly series of smallforms seeks to support contemporary and experimental forms of music which require an attitude of listening. It consists of recording sessions in the afternoon and concerts/live sets in the evening – joining forces with electronic allies, spoken word, spinning tunes or sweet stuff of pop culture that may lead to the underworld (or hell). http://smallforms.org/
