SMA: Closet-to-Community, A Thrifted Fashion Show Fundraiser
Come join us for our 4th annual fashion event that's all about sustainable style, education and our community! SMA presents Closet-to-Community, A Thrifted Fashion Show Fundraiser at Hoboken Grace. Get ready to be inspired by unique outfits created from thrifted treasures from our very own Thrift Store in Hoboken. With a focus on giving back to our community, this event promotes eco-friendly choices while supporting a great cause, our Scholarship program.
All proceeds will benefit the Scholarship program of St. Mary Advocates, which since 1966 has supported over 140 students in the pursuit of their education. In addition to the scholarship program, St. Mary Advocates, Inc. supports various local, national and global charitable organizations on causes and relief related to health, education and general community well-being.

St. Mary Advocates is a Hoboken-based, volunteer-driven nonprofit founded in 1966 at the former St. Mary Hospital.
Our mission is to advance community health and education. Today, our impact is powered by 39 members and 45 active volunteers.
Our fully volunteer-run Thrift Store, established in 1976 and now located at 536 Garden Street, is our primary engine of fundraising. Open Wednesday through Saturday, it directs 100% of net proceeds to outreach, scholarships, and charitable grants. We further amplify our impact through pop-ups, “Sip & Thrift” events, and our signature annual thrifted Fashion Show.
Since launching our scholarship program in 1968, we’ve awarded scholarships to over 140 New Jersey students pursuing health science majors, distributing over $275K in funding. In 2025 alone, we reinvested over $226K into the community through scholarships, grants, sponsorships, and targeted fundraising efforts.
For 60 years, we’ve turned volunteer service into real, measurable impact.
