🎶 Slowhand Sultans: Masters of the Stratocasters - December 2026 🎶Genre: Eric Clapton / Mark Knopfler Soul / Blues / Standards

About the Event: Slowhand Sultans normally specialise in paying tribute to the music of Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler. One thing these guitar gods had in common was use of the classic Fender Stratocaster Guitar. Titans of the guitar, they stand tall amongst the very best of guitarist/vocalists.
The Masters of the Stratocasters Show keeps a core of Eric Clapton and Dire Straits songs and surrounds them with tracks from other guitar greats who strapped on the Strat. There will be songs from the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughan and maybe a surprise or two.
This is not our normal Slowhand Sultans show – but we anticipate if you like the normal show, then this one is one you will want to catch as well.
Tim “Slowhand” Gaze has enjoyed a long career as one of Australia’s pre-eminent guitarist / vocalists. Playing professionally from the age of 15, Tim Gaze has had a diversified career both here and overseas, recording, producing, teaching and working with a multitude of artists and projects such as Tamam Shud, Jimmy Barnes, Jon Lord (of Deep Purple), Bob Daisley (Ozzie Osbourne, Rainbow, etc), Russell Morris, Brian Cadd, Gyan, Stevie Wright, Rob Grosser, Renee Geyer and many more.
Tim has been playing the music of Slowhand for many years and has faithfully captured Eric Clapton’s style.
Mick “Sultan” Melit has worked professionally as a guitarist/vocalist for over 30 years and has shared the stage as a backing musician for some of Australia’s most revered artists including Russell Morris, Joe Camilleri, Jon Stevens, Marty Rhone, Frankie J Holden, Kevin Borich, Renee Geyer, Digger Revell and toured extensively as lead vocalist and second guitarist with the late, great Phil Emmanuel.
Mick is well known around South-East Queensland for his solo shows and work with many bands. He has Mark Knopfler’s characteristic sound and finger style well in hand.
Tim and Mick are supported by Tom De Voss on Drums and Ian Lock on Bass. Tom and Ian are performing regularly around South-East Queensland in a variety of bands and shows and form a tight, driving rhythm section which propels the music onwards and forms a solid platform for the guitar heroics of the lead men.
