About this Event
For one day only we clear the shop and tables for a good ole storytelling potluck with friends. Reserve your free seat at the table!
The culinary theme this month is SOUP (and things you eat with soup) - soup with a story is even better.
Sweet soups, savory soups, red soups, white soups, vegan soups, and your favorite chili soup! Canned soups. Pumpking soup. Cold soup. Dippin' soup. Sad soup. Happy soup. Dirty soup. Clean soup. Crockpot soup. Stovetop soup. Garden soup. Blender soup. Colorful soup. Dull soup. Your mom's soup. Family soup. A casserole that identifies as a soup. Creek soup. Old soup. Dry soup. Wet soup. Cracker soup. Bread soup. Drinking soup. Chewing soup. Is gumbo soup? Whatever it is. We're interested.
The story theme is CREEK STORIES of TRANSFORMATION. Did you grow up going to creeks? Have you ever caught crawdsads or encountered a great blue heron at the creek? Did you have your first kiss at a creek? Do you collect items or stones from the creek? Do you swim in the creek? Do you have a scary or sad creek story? Did you find God at the creek? What's your first creek memory? Did you write a song or a poem about a creek? All stories are held with reverence and care no matter what flavor your story is.
We still want you to attend even if you don't have a creek story. Tell us about your soup, share a poem, do a dance, or just sit with us around the table. All are welcome and will respectfully not be pressured to participate in story-sharing.💙
Arrive around 4pm. We'll wait until about 4:30pm to begin fixing our plates and then hang out and share stories from 5-6pm(ish). OPTIONAL Flight of Soups: Bring a muffin pan/tin and your favorite soup spoon, and we'll provde the cups/bowls so we can carry (and eat) multiple cups of soup at once!
Space is limited to the first 30 guests to register. If you're unable to attend after registering just let us know so we can share your seat with the next person! This event is free and family-friendly. But there's always cussin'. You be the judge.
