School librarians have always stood at the intersection of learning and life—curating the books that open minds, building the skills that sharpen thinkers, and creating the spaces where every student feels welcome. But the profession faces a consequential moment. Intellectual freedom is under pressure. Artificial intelligence is rewriting what it means to find, evaluate, and use information. And the value of school libraries—and the people who lead them—is being debated everywhere from the school board to the statehouse.
School Library Journal’s 2026 Summit, hosted this year at the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, West Las Vegas Library Branch will give you the opportunity to gather with school and district librarians, library leaders, and K–12 administrators to learn and share ideas with those who best understand the hard, hopeful, and essential work of raising the stakes for every student you serve.
This year's Summit will be built around three programming pillars: Engaging, Innovating, and Leading—the three forces that define what the best school librarians do every day, and what the profession needs right now.
