Back for a glorious third visit to the Sound Lounge, we welcome the band formed by the late and great Ronnie Lane when he left the Faces, still featuring original members Steve Bingham (bass) and Charlie Hart (accordion and fiddle). They'll be joined again by Frank Mead (saxes, harp and whistle), Brendan O’Neill (drums), Sean Nolan (lead guitar) and (all things being equal!) SL regular and keyboard colossus Geraint Watkins.
Slim Chance recently wowed an audience of devotees at the second Ronnie Lane Fest at Cadogan Hall, where they gave a live debut to their great new track 'Cajun Cowboy', featuring Geraint's irresistible accordion. Expect to hear it tonight alongside such cast-iron classics from their repertoire with Ronnie as 'How Come,' 'One for the Road', 'The Poacher' and 'Kushty Rye' - plus Faces greats such as 'Ooh La La' and 'Debris.'
When Lane founded Slim Chance, little did he dream the band would still be touring the country more than half a century later, delighting fans and enjoying playing together in the spirit that Ronnie championed so magnificently. Between them, the band have also worked with Paul McCartney, Rory Gallagher, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, B.B. King, Geno Washington, Bill Wyman, Ian Dury, Nick Lowe and many more.
Don't miss the group that Uncut said "convincingly recreate Ronnie's uniquely ruralised, soul-and-groove brand of folk-rock" while Record Collector wrote that "with a rough-shod, rollicking sound of their own, the party is already in full swing".
Opening guest Erica Steenkamp, originally from South Africa, is a London-based singer-songwriter who draws on blues, jazz and funk influences. She sings about contemporary issues, love and life, to toe-tapping rhythms and with a voice we love. Check out her 2025 album 'Julietta' and in particular the gorgeous 'The Shipping Forecast': https://bit.ly/4kkBklB(opens in a new tab)
Doors will be at 7pm for a mixed seating and standing show, and after two sellouts in a row, demand will be high so grab your tickets now!
