Sydney's best seat for the Melbourne Cup is 11 floors up.
On Tuesday 3 November, SKYE Bar & Lounge, the rooftop at Crowne Plaza Sydney Burwood, turns on the Inner West's most stylish race day. Settle in with a drink in hand and sweeping 360° views across the Sydney skyline to the Blue Mountains, then feel the room build to the race everyone stops for, live on the big screens.
This is a full afternoon of fashion, Fashions on the Field, sweeps, music and celebration. The Melbourne Cup event runs until 5pm, but the afternoon doesn’t have to end there — SKYE Bar & Lounge remains open after the event, so you can keep the drinks, music and rooftop atmosphere going while taking in the sunset views.

Fashions on the Field
Dress for the occasion and you could walk away a winner. Categories include Best Dressed Lady, Best Dressed Gent, Best Dressed Couple, Best Hat and Best Dressed Table, with prizes such as hotel stays and dining vouchers. You'll also vote for "Who Wore It Best" by QR code on the day.
Sweeps, games and prizes
Your MC runs live sweep draws at $5, $10, $20 and $50 (purchased on the day).
Join in the games to earn a spin of the prize wheel, and share your best race day photo on Instagram for a chance to win a hotel dining or accommodation prize.
