Sky Stage is turning 10! The award-winning brainchild of artist Heather Theresa Clark in collaboration with MIT's Digital Structures Research Group for construction and the Frederick Arts Council for arts programming and management, Sky Stage celebrated it's grand opening in September 2016. What was supposed to be a temporary public art installation and community art-space became a beloved seasonal linchpin of the creative community offering theater, literature, yoga and fitness classes, events just for kids, nature, comedy and improv, salsa, swing, and line dances, and tons of live music under the stars!
Join us as we take a trip down memory lane of some of our favorite bands and artists of the past ten years, plus fresh new talents!
Friday Sept 18 lineup: Frederick legends Silent Old Mtns return to Sky Stage with their signature layered indie rock anthems; legacy Sky Stage hip artist & rapper Stitch EARLY and his band The Populatn join the party, plus blues, soul and jazz singer and The Voice contestant Carly Harvey, and painter and emerging music artist Noah Chiles. Doors, 6pm.
Sat Sept 19 lineup: Rising DC guitar beast Paulie Boy Blues fresh from a tour in the UK, neo-soul indie songstress Nan-Ana, and Frederick RnB and hip-hop artist Roiyalty all share their talents. With special guest MC, Frederick's Kiki Wilson of OUT40 Media. Doors, 6pm.
Buy a ticket to individual nights for $15, or both nights for $25. All-ages, beer/wine available to purchase for 21+ with ID. Under age 12 free.
