Welcome to Sketchbook Sessions - Whimsical Sketchbook Workshops with Emma WardWe all know we should be using our sketchbooks and journals more often but draw a blank (literally) when we open it up to create.
But what if creativity wasn’t about getting it right, but about letting go, following a curious thought, and seeing where the magic takes you? What if you just needed a little encouragement and a few new tools in your creative tool blet to get you going?
Leave the blank-page jitters, expensive art supplies, and ticking clock at the door because it’s time to play, get creative in community and learn a bunch of interesting skills, approaches and perspectives to not only kick start (or re-invigorate) your sketchbook practive but actually keep it going!
Join artist Emma Ward journey into the wonderful world of sketchbooks, a place where you can explore your inner world and simultaneously record the world around you, where scrap paper becomes treasure, everyday objects spark inspiration, and there are no rules to follow or masterpieces to prove. Through reassuring guidance and playful experimentation, you’ll discover a meditative approach to making art that nurtures your wellbeing, quietens the mind, and lets your creative confidence bloom.
We begin with a special one-off workshop: Not All Sketchbooks Are Created Equal. In this session, we’ll breathe new life into old books, recycled paper, and forgotten magazines, transforming them into your very own one-of-a-kind sketchbook. (28th October)
Then, the adventure continues with fortnightly “Sketchbook Sessions” where Emma will be your guide, creative companion, and whimsical art guru in all things sketchy and creative. Come as you are, bring your curiosity, and give yourself permission to make a glorious mess.
While this is a creative journey designed for recurring attendence you are welcome to come to one, some or all sessions. Your creativity is waiting to play! 4th and 18th nov, 2nd and 16th Dec.
