About this Event
Join the McLean Art Society for “Sketchbook Journaling,” a free artist demonstration with watercolor artist Marni Maree at the McLean Community Center.
Marni is a watercolor artist who loves to combine painting, teaching, and travel. She has led Creative Sketching Workshops in France, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa, Colombia, and beyond, gaining plenty of experience in how to travel light while still capturing meaningful moments along the way.
During this demonstration, Marni will show just how simple and enjoyable sketchbook journaling can be. She’ll walk us through her compact “go kit,” demonstrating how few tools are really needed for sketching while traveling or drawing on location.
Marni will also demonstrate her quick-sketch approach for capturing moments in real time and show how a page of ordinary or unfinished-looking drawings can be transformed with just a handful of thoughtful touches.
Want to try it yourself? Bring a thin-tip drawing pen and create a sketchbook page of your own while discovering easy techniques that can elevate even the simplest drawing.
