Showcase your favourite fabrics in this beautiful six-month Block of the Month programme with Janet Goddard. Inspired by the timeless appeal of blue and white, the China Blue Quilt brings together a collection of individual patchwork blocks, stitched together on point to create a striking and elegant design.
Spread over six months, this workshop gives you the opportunity to work through the quilt step by step, developing your skills and enjoying the satisfaction of seeing your project take shape. Featuring ten different blocks, it’s a wonderful opportunity to try new patterns, expand your patchwork repertoire and build confidence with your machine stitching.
Janet will guide you through the techniques involved, including machine piecing and Dresden plate construction, helping you achieve beautiful results as you progress through your quilt.
Choose a classic blue and white palette, experiment with shades of blue and teal, or bring out a treasured fabric collection in colours of your choice. With endless possibilities for combining plain and patterned fabrics, you can create a quilt that reflects your own individual style.

You will need a sewing machine, basic sewing supplies, threads and fabrics. Detailed requirements will be emailed to you in advance of the class.
Beginners welcome. Participants should be able to use a rotary cutter safely and stitch an accurate 1/4" seam.
Good to know:
The venue has parking. Upon arrival, park in the car park at the front of the shop. Unload your vehicle into your classroom. Staff will then advise you where to park your car for the day at the rear of the complex.
There is disabled parking and ramps allowing access to all areas. There is a disabled toilet.
Staff will help anyone in need of assistance. Shop on site selling an enormous range of goods relating to crafting: dressmaking, patchwork & quilting, knitting & crochet, sewing machines and furniture.
There is a coffee shop on site called O for Coffee. Attendees at our classes are visited by coffee shop staff regularly throughout the day to take any orders. Anything consumed during your day is sold at a 10% discount. As well as a large choice of hot and cold drinks, the menu comprises savoury choices including sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes and soups. For those with a sweet tooth, there is a selection of cakes and scones made in-house with gluten-free and vegan options.
