Sisters of Cinema, Strawberry Moon, and filmmaker Brittany Bendabout invite you to a special October 27 screening of Russ Meyer's Faster Pussycat! K*ll K*ll! (1965). The screening includes a teaser from Brittany's upcoming film Faster, which draws inspiration from pulp films of the past through a modern lens. The screening is supported by the Artist Creative Fund, a program of George Kaiser Family Foundation.Tickets on sale now, $8 members and $10 non-members. Tickets include the screening plus post-film discussion with Sisters of Cinema host Julia Holeman and Brittany Bendabout.
About Faster and Brittany Bendabout: Brittany Bendabout is a Tulsa-based, Cherokee filmmaker and documentary photographer whose work explores the identification and cultural involvement of Native Americans in Oklahoma. Bendabout’s directorial debut, Faster, is a short film that explores themes of female rage and vengeance born from sexual assault supported by the WAVE (Women at the Very Edge), The Future of Film is Female and the Artist Creative Fund, a program of George Kaiser Family Foundation.

Originally released in 1965 from exploitation-cinema pioneer Russ Meyer, the film follows sadistic go-go dancers Varla (Tura Satana), Rosie (Haji) and Billie (Lori Williams) as they break free from the nightclub where they perform and race out to the desert to stir up a little mayhem. After karate expert Varla kills an innocent man, the voluptuous trio takes his girlfriend (Susan Bernard) hostage as they attempt to wheedle a hidden fortune from a misogynistic old man (Paul Trinka) and his muscle-bound, brain-damaged son (Dennis Busch).
