โ BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR WASTE OUT
There are a few important things to know to make sure your waste can be collected:
๐ Timing matters! Place your waste on the kerb ONE WEEK before your scheduled collection, not earlier.
๐ Know your limit. Each eligible household can put out up to 2mยณ of waste โ roughly equivalent to a 1.2m x 1.8m trailer loaded to under 1m high.
๐ Keep it separated. Make two piles: general household waste and scrap metal + whitegoods.
๐ Make it manageable. Items must weigh less than 40kg, be under 1.5m long and be able to be safely lifted by two adults.
๐ Contain loose items. Place smaller or loose rubbish in bags or boxes.
โ ๏ธ Putting waste out before your permitted collection period is considered illegal dumping, and penalties may apply.
โณ Please be patient! Collection crews may still be finishing the previous week's areas before reaching your suburb.

โป๏ธ BEFORE YOU THROW IT OUT, THINK REUSE OR RECYCLE!
Your unwanted items might still have plenty of life left in them! There are several ways to give things a second chance or dispose of them responsibly.
๐๏ธ GARAGE SALE TRAIL | 7โ8 + 14โ15 NOVEMBER
One person's clutter is another person's treasure! Turn your pre-loved items into extra cash by hosting a garage sale, or explore local sales to bag a bargain. It's a great way to keep usable items out of landfill.
๐ COMMUNITY RECYCLING CENTRE
Not everything belongs in your bulk waste pile! Singleton's Community Recycling Centre at the Waste Management Facility accepts a range of tricky household items free of charge, including paint, gas bottles, oils, batteries, smoke detectors, fluorescent globes, cardboard, polystyrene, steel and e-waste.
๐ช RECYCLE FROM YOUR DOORSTEP
Did you know you can recycle hard-to-recycle items without leaving home? Through Council's partnership with ReSmart, residents can arrange doorstep collections for items including soft plastics, clothing, textiles, electronic waste and more.
