About this Event
With dating apps linked to stress, anxiety and low self-esteem, it's no wonder more people are looking to meet in the real world. That's where we come in.
Join us on The Deck at Welcome to Thornbury for a singles mixer for men and women aged 40 to 55. Instead of intense one-on-one dates, you'll chat in relaxed groups of four, and every 15 minutes we'll reshuffle the groups so you meet lots of new people.
A drink on arrival is included in your ticket.
How it works:
- Check in, collect your name tag and your drink token
- Your host puts you into a group of four to get chatting
- Every 15 minutes, the groups reshuffle at random
- No scorecards: you're encouraged to create your own opportunities
- Prompt questions are on hand if the conversation needs a nudge
- Book before 1st of December to be invited to join the event's private WhatsApp group, open from the day before until the day after, to say hi and maybe find someone to walk in with
This format is ideal if you:
- prefer something social and low-pressure
- enjoy group conversation
- want some structure, but nothing rigid
Tickets are split evenly between ladies and gentlemen to keep numbers balanced.

Your host, Ben, is a mental health professional who's passionate about addressing loneliness by creating more connected communities.
