Class Description
Learn the basics of powder coating. Take home a small steel mobius strip for home or garden.
The materials fee for this class is $20. This is separate from the ticket price and is to reimburse the instructor for any tools or materials used in this class. This will be paid once, directly to the instructor at the start of the first class meeting. This instructor accepts Cash, CashApp, Check or Venmo.
Learning Objectives
- Learn safe use of powder coating equipment
- Understand the necessary precautions and safety equipment
- Become familiar with shop etiquette
- Know how to properly clean and reset the equipment for the next user
Instructor - Eden Attar @epifemmeology
Eden Attar is an installation artist, aspiring art conservator, and the former Artisans Asylum Metal Shop Lead. Her work has been supported by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, the Harvard ArtLab, the Harvard Ed Portal, and the Luminary St. Louis. Eden sees education as part of her artistic practice and is interested in anti-colonial, de-schooled, and non-hierarchical forms of teaching and learning.
Target Audience
Beginners to poweder coating and/or folks curious about Artisans Asylums' facilities. Students must be 18 years or older.

- Welded sheet metal möbius strip
- Coating Powders
- Masks, Nitrile gloves, ear plugs
- Access to A2's Powder Coating & Sandblasting and tools for the duration of the session.
Class Policies
Attire: Closed-toed shoes are required throughout Artisans Asylum. If you already have an N95 or better NIOSH-approved mask or respirator bring your own. A2 can supply disposable masks as needed.
