About this Event
SPECIAL NOTE: Our 8/31 circle will be a special end-of-summer celebration! The circle will go from 7 - 8:30pm, and then all who want to are invited to walk over to JP Licks for ice cream after. JP Licks is a 7 minute walk from the church. You are welcome to pack your own dinner to eat at their outdoor tables as well, or Chilacates is a great food option across the street.
, we inspire deeper connection to ourselves, each other, and the Earth through song. We believe in the healing, freedom, and joy that can come through communal singing, and aim to make that experience more widely accessible.
What to Expect: Our monthly JP & Cambridge circles are the foundation of what we offer and a great first entry point to our community. We sing for presence, not perfection, weaving together simple, repeatable songs taught call-and-response with playful, accessible vocal improv games and exercises. Everything is an invitation and all are welcome, no matter your relationship with your voice.
Timing: These circles last from 7 - 9pm, usually with a short break in the middle. Special timing for 8/31, see note above!
Bring: a water bottle, and a cushion to sit on if you'd like.
RSVP & Cost: We encourage RSVPs through Eventbrite, but walk-ins are welcome too. Sliding Scale $10-30. You can pay through eventbrite, pay cash at the door, or venmo @bostonareasingingcircles. No one turned away for lack of funds.
Location: Hope Central Church is a 4 minute walk from the Green Street stop on the orange line, and has its own free parking lot across the street. Depending on weather, we may hold some or all of our circle outdoors in the courtyard, so dress appropriately!
Accessibility: There are about ten steps to enter the main entrance to the Sanctuary. The church is also wheelchair accessible via a ramp and Power Stair Lift Chair from another entrance. Please email us in advance to let us know if you need to use this entrance. The church has a wheelchair accessible bathroom.
