Artist Bios (Alphabetical Order)
Alissa Vox Raw:
Toronto-based loop artist Alissa Vox Raw seamlessly loops stacks of interlocking vocal harmonies live on stage, creating rich and dynamic music beds to house her soaring lead vocal. Her styles range from ethereal and dreamy, to edgy rock , to upbeat danceable beats.
Beatsync:
Beatsync is a nine-piece powerhouse vocal band from Toronto, Ontario combining eclectic repertoire with dynamic beats and sophisticated arrangements. From pop to electronic to classic soul, Beatsync draws upon diverse influences to craft their unique contemporary sound, interpreting modern hits and deep cuts alike through an exciting and creative lens.
Since their formation in 2015, Beatsync has been making waves locally and internationally, having been featured as part of Fairchild Television’s 2016 Mandarin Profile Awards, in which the group performed a tailor-made set of English and Mandarin-language songs beloved to Eastern and Western audiences alike. They have been featured many times around the Toronto area live and on Television and Radio, including on CP24, CIUT, Rogers TV, and Acaville Radio. In 2017, Beatsync embarked on its first China tour with stops in Haikou, Huadu, Zhongshan and Nansha, playing to sold-out houses and earning standing ovations at every stop.
Since then, Beatsync has continued to earn top billing at major festivals and events across Canada, including at The Opera House (Toronto), The Fairmont Frontenac (Quebec City), Meridian Arts Centre (North York), Country Day Theatre (King City) and the Chinese Canadian Centre of Greater Toronto (Markham).
Enter A Cappella:
Enter A Cappella is a contemporary choir from Sir William Mulock Secondary School in Newmarket, Ontario. The nationally recognized choir has consistently finished in the top 10 of the CBC Music class challenge and has received gold awards at MusicFest Canada.
JAMME:
JAMME (short for Jazz and Modern Music Ensemble) is a cappella group made up of students from Etobicoke School of the Arts. The group is well-established and renowned in the GTA, having performed at various community functions as well as at the esteemed Jazz Bistro in downtown Toronto and on JazzFM.91. The group is dedicated to learning more about vocal jazz music as well as singing in close-knit harmony. Under the direction of Aimée Claxton, the group looks forward to creating a lasting impact on the music scene in Toronto and beyond.
Kalendar:
Based in Toronto, Kalendar formed in late 2013 to extend the ancient singing traditions of rural Ukraine into a contemporary and relevant transnational urban practice. Taking time to study with great performers (Marichka Marcyk and members of Dakha Brakha) the 5 singers of Kalendar embrace the stylistics details of “Ridnyj Holos.” They have performed around Toronto and parts of Canada. Whether it be an elaborate stage performance or a folkloric collaboration with Kosa Kolektiv, according to Ukie Daily, Kalendar’s performances are known to “transplant you deep in a rural Ukrainian village.”
Ori Shalva:
Ori Shalva, the Makharashvili singing family, doesn’t just perform Georgian polyphony. When they sing exploding counterpoint, harmonized rolling melismas enveloped in a velvety drone, or archaic thick sonorities accompanied by rustic folk instruments, they transcend space and time, and take you on a far-off musical journey of Sakartvelo (aka Georgia), a small and ancient mountainous country located on the borders of Asia and Europe.
Georgian polyphony is a millennia old tradition known for its distinctive and visceral harmonies and recognized by UNESCO as an intangible masterpiece of humanity. The singing family unit has played an important role in the preservation of Georgian polyphony. Singing for Ori Shalva, like most Georgian singing families, is natural, instinctive, and was originally framed by family celebrations, not staged performances. Unlike other Georgian singing families, however, they are based in Toronto, halfway around the world from the source.
Ori Shalva have sung in venues around Toronto, parts of the States, and all over Georgia. The pandemic restrictions raised their grassroots beginnings and they have now become a recognizable name through performances with SING!, Community Folk Art Council, Labyrinth Ontario, BLOKMUSIC, and other music presenters.

Peterborough Pop Ensemble:
The Peterborough Pop Ensemble, founded in 2000 by the late Barbara Monahan, has been performing and touching lives in Peterborough and the surrounding area for many years. Striving to present the highest level of musical excellence while creating energetic and infectious concert experiences for audiences, their diverse musical style and clear love of singing have allowed the Pop Ensemble to develop a remarkable reputation. They perform a broad spectrum of music, including jazz, pop, gospel, and Broadway.
With a fundamental belief in supporting local charities and the community, the Pop Ensemble proudly participates in many local events such as the annual Dragon Boat Festival and Remembrance Day ceremonies. In recognition of these contributions, the Pop Ensemble was presented with a Civic Award for Community Betterment in June 2012, and has been named Peterborough's Musical Ambassadors; honours which they are proud to carry.
Scott Jackson:
The 2012 Canadian Beatbox Champion Scott Jackson lives in a world built by sounds. A door hinge's squeaky creak, a snare drum's darting snap, a helicopter's chopping blades; these are the intricacies he has made his craft. A finalist on Canada's Got Talent, Scott's verbal wizardry is as captivating as it is unusual.
SoundCrowd:
SoundCrowd (soundcrowd.ca) is the brainchild of Artistic Director, Scott Pietrangelo. As Toronto’s first large-scale contemporary a cappella ensemble, it made its debut in 2016 alongside former Barenaked Ladies front man Steven Page at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall. Since then, its members have been making harmony non-stop - even through a global pandemic. Some notable appearances include sell-out concerts at The Opera House, Paradise Theatre and St. Lawrence Centre, appearing as featured guests on the 1000th episode of the national talk show, The Social, performing with other notable Toronto-based a cappella groups (Cadence, Countermeasure, Retrocity), opening in-concert for DCappella (Disney) and Jonathan Antoine (Britain’s Got Talent), singing with Broadway’s “Evan Hansen,” Colton Ryan, at the Princess of Wales Theatre for Mirvish’s 2018 season opener event, and performing as a featured ensemble at Total Vocal with Deke Sharon at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall. SoundCrowd has just finished work on their first album, "All Voice, No Limits,” which is available on CD and streaming platforms.
VIVA Singers Toronto:
VIVA Singers Toronto is a not-for-profit family of choirs with a mandate to give members, ages four through adult, the opportunity to achieve artistic excellence in a singer-centered, collaborative choral community. VIVA offers exceptional programming by “doing choir differently,” embracing choral music artistry through chorister creation, innovative vocal programming, inclusive practices, and developing strong community connections.
Unique to VIVA are a renowned and inspiring Inclusion Program for teens and adults with disabilities, and a Choral Leadership and Mentoring Program. VIVA is proud to be the Associate Choir of the Elmer Iseler Singers, and The National Ballet of Canada's official children's choir.

WIBI:
WIBI A Cappella is an ICCA Semi-Finalist and Canada’s longest-running collegiate a cappella group, based at York University. Its members comprise of students from various faculties and all walks of life. The group recently celebrated its 35th anniversary with a showcase featuring alumni in addition to releasing two EPs (WIBI: Volume 1 & 2) this year from the group's recordings during COVID-19.
