Join us and enjoy a creative afternoon with like-minded people.
Bring your own sewing project, whether that’s making, mending or alterations. Lauren will be on hand if you need any guidance/advice about your project or your sewing machine.
Minimum £6 donation (to help cover the cost of expert advice, room hire and refreshments).
Beginners and accompanied children 12 years+ welcome
Bring your own sewing machine, or hire one for £5. To reserve one of our sewing machines email [email protected]
We will provide:
- advice and guidance as needed on your sewing projects
- sewing machines for hire (email [email protected] to reserve)
- iron and ironing board, cutting space
- hot drinks and biscuits (organic and palm-oil free).
What to bring:
- sewing project and all necessary fabrics, threads, yarns, etc
- sewing kit
- sewing machine if you need one
- £5 in cash if you would like to hire one of our sewing machines for the session.
Concession tickets
Being accessible and inclusive to everyone is important to us at Simply Repair. If you want to join us at any of our events but financial circumstances prevent this, please get in touch at info@ simplyrepair.org.uk so we can help. All requests are confidential, and we offer a no questions asked policy. We will do our best to accommodate but, in the event, where the workshop is already full, we can discuss future options.
Your host
Simply Repair Sewing Club is hosted by Lauren Davies, founder of Iron Keld Repairs, an outdoor gear repair service based in Kendal. She loves the outdoors, creativity and the environment, a real kindred spirit! Lauren is an inspiring and patient teacher, with plenty of skills, experience and creative ideas to share. Refunds and Cancellations
Tickets will be refunded if:
- The event is cancelled
- The event is rescheduled, and you cannot make the new date
- The event changes location, and you cannot attend
Unfortunately, we cannot automatically offer refunds if you can no longer attend the event due to personal circumstances or if you have changed your mind about attending the event. If you are unable to attend, please email us at [email protected] as soon as possible and we will refund your payment if we manage to resell your ticket.
If you have been charged a booking fee, unfortunately this cannot be refunded.
About Simply Repair South Lakes
We hold repair events where you can get small electricals, clothes, furniture, toys and other household items fixed free of charge. We bring together people with skills to repair and those who want to learn how. Our aims at Simply Repair are to reduce waste, share skills, improve wellbeing and build communities.
We aim to bring you monthly workshops where you can learn a new skill from local hosts and bring people together to share knowledge and skills. All profits go directly to helping to fund more workshops and repair events.
