About this Event
Join West Bay Chorale for Simple Gifts, a special winter concert celebrating the rich traditions of American choral music as we conclude 2026 and commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Under the direction of Artistic Director Eric W. Van Dervort, the concert features a thoughtfully selected program of works by American composers and arrangers, blending treasured traditional melodies with fresh musical interpretations.
The evening highlights four selections by acclaimed composer Dan Forrest, alongside works by Andy Beck, John Ferguson, William Billings, and Ryan Murphy, whose arrangement of Simple Gifts inspired the concert's title.
Audiences will also be invited to raise their voices alongside the Chorale for three beloved carols: O Come, All Ye Faithful, Silent Night, and O Little Town of Bethlehem.
The program concludes with Dan Forrest's arrangement of Auld Lang Syne, featuring an earlier melody than the one most familiar today. This moving finale offers an opportunity to reflect on the past year and look toward the new year with hope and gratitude.
