Learn the fundamentals of sweat soldering while creating your own layered mixed-metal pendant.In this hands-on workshop, you’ll work with copper and brass to design a one-of-a-kind pendant using layers of metal, texture and simple shapes. You’ll learn how to prepare and fit your pieces, apply solder, use a torch safely, and sweat solder the layers together for a strong, clean bond.
We’ll also explore ways to add texture and dimension using traditional metalsmithing tools before finishing and polishing your pendant.
No previous jewellery-making experience is necessary. This is a great introduction to torch soldering and an opportunity to get comfortable with some of the tools and techniques used in silversmithing.
All materials and tools are provided, and you’ll leave with your own finished mixed-metal pendant.
