Join local artist J R Oatts for a playful silk-inspired art workshop.Known as “the end of the Silk Road,” Macclesfield is a town shaped by silk and the many stories woven into its threads.
This workshop will explore ancestral, historic and personal journeys to Macclesfield, through sound, expressive painting, painting on silk and silk collage.
Participants are encouraged to experiment freely in a relaxed and welcoming space. No previous art, creative or textile experience required.
Alongside creating your own silk-inspired artworks, you’ll leave with new creative techniques and ideas to continue to explore at home.
