The Guilford College Theater Studies and Physics Departments are proud to present Lauren Gunderson's Silent Sky, a dramatization of the life and scientific work of Henrietta Leavitt, a researcher at Harvard at the beginning of the 20th century whose work on variable stars laid the foundation for our understanding of where we are in the universe and how far away everything is. Performances are at 7:30 pm and will run from November 5-7 and 12-14. Tickets are not available in advance -- only at the door. General admission. $5 for Guilford College students and employees, and $10 for guests from off campus. The play will be staged in our planetarium, the Bryan Jr. auditorium, and after select performances (weather permitting), guests will be invited to visit the rooftop Cline Observatory and view the sky through telescopes themselves.
