Silent Night, Unholy Sweaters invites guests to experience the holiday season in a way that is anything but traditional. Hosted at the notoriously haunted Malvern Manor, this event combines an ugly sweater contest with a paranormal investigation for an unforgettable evening.
Guests are encouraged to wear their most outrageously unholy holiday sweaters. Fellow ticket holders will vote for the worst of the worst. The winner will earn a $100 cash prize, proof that poor fashion choices can be rewarding. Attendees will also participate in a laid-back paranormal investigation. This is designed to be approachable for both seasoned investigators and first-timers. Attendees may explore independently at their own pace or request guidance, equipment tips, and investigative suggestions from staff throughout the night. Whether you prefer structured experimentation or quiet observation, the experience is meant to be comfortable, flexible, and immersive. VIP ticket holders can explore as long as they would like! Because this is a public event, keep in mind that others may be exploring when you are ready for rest. VIP ticket holders are welcome to stay on site but an Airbnb rental at your expense may be considered if you want uninterrupted rest.
MALVERN MANOR
Malvern Manor was originally constructed in 1860 as a hotel serving railroad travelers. Over the decades it evolved from a bustling lodging house into a nursing home and later a group care facility. At times this facility housed individuals with a range of illnesses and conditions before ultimately closing due to safety and code issues in 2005. Today, the manor offers visitors a glimpse into its laytered past from hotel lobby to institutional hallways. Its long history of human presence, hardship, and transition contributes to its reputation as one of the most haunted locations in the midwest.
Reports of paranormal phenomena are widespread. Visitors frequently describe disembodied voices, unexplained footsteps, sudden temperature changes, shadow figures and objects moving on their own. One of the most exciting parts? Christmas time is historically the most active time of the year for the spirits!
RULES AND REGULATIONS
--No alchol is permitted
--All sources of light must be battery operated. No open flames are permitted in the building.
--It is going to be COLD! Dress appropriately as a vast majority of the building is not heated.
--We reserve the right to ask you to leave at any time for any reason without refund. You are expected to conduct yourself appropriately.
--You are responsible for bringing your own snacks, drinks, and food that you may want to consume.
