Silba is turning 30 – and you’re invited to celebrate with us! 🎉For three decades, Silba has brought young people together to engage with democracy, dialogue and political change – in Denmark and across borders.
Since 1996, generations of young volunteers have shaped Silba through our local branches and activities across Denmark, election observation missions, international partnerships, debates, projects and democratic communities. Along the way, young people have met, organised, travelled, debated and taken action together.
On 28 October, we are bringing together current and former Silba members, friends, democracy activists and curious new faces in Copenhagen to celebrate 30 years of Silba – and to look both back and ahead.
Under the theme Democracy in Action, the evening will explore Silba’s journey alongside 30 years of political and democratic change in Eastern Europe – a region at the heart of Silba’s work since the beginning. We will discuss where democracy stands today and the role young people and civil society can play in shaping what comes next.
Expect an evening of conversation, debate and perspectives from Denmark and Eastern Europe, followed by time to reconnect, meet new people and celebrate Silba’s 30th anniversary together.
