Shy Shares #005

Shy Shares is a monthly music club and network for producers, musicians, and sound artists of all abilities. After hosting our first two pilots in east London, we are really excited to bring the club back to south east for our third session at AAJA, Deptford.

The club is hosted by Shynamique (Lucinda Purkis and Nihal J. Singh). We are absolute beginners ourselves, so this is a completely low-ego space built for anyone who wants to share tracks they are working on, exchange ideas, and meet other locals.

We sit in a casual circle, share some tea, drinks, and snacks, and take turns listening to each other's music. Sharing your work is completely optional, and any feedback given is strictly friendly and constructive.

We welcome all genres, but we have a particular love for experimental, unorthodox, and non-commercial music, spanning grime, ambient, alternative classical, acoustic, club tracks, etc.

• You can play a digital track from your phone, laptop, or a USB stick.
• You can play an instrument or sing a song live.
• You are also very welcome to just come down, listen, eat snacks, and hang out without sharing anything at all.

Shy Shares works as a horizontal network, are looking to actively grow. Regular people who want to get involved are invited to join our core planning blocks and help shape the project. We are working towards having regular public performance nights and educational workshops across Lewisham. Come through !
