Spend the May Bank Holiday walking in the Shropshire Hills, with four guided walks, three nights away and a small group of people who enjoy being outdoorsRunning from 30 April to 3 May 2027, this four-day walking weekend is based at YHA Bridges in Ratlinghope, right in the heart of the Shropshire Hills.
And this isn't a new experiment. After two successful weekends, we're bringing it back for a third year.
The weekend combines some proper days in the hills with plenty of time to relax, eat together and enjoy the social side of a walking break. Come on your own or with someone else. It's a mixed group with a maximum of just 12 people.
The walking
Friday: A relaxed 6.5-mile Darnford Valley walk after arrival.
Saturday: The bigger day. An 18km circular walk across the Long Mynd with around 540m of ascent, including sweeping views and the chance to see the area's wild ponies.
Sunday: A 12km walk across the Stiperstones with around 380m of ascent, followed by the option of Sunday dinner at the local pub.
Monday: An early start for an 8.5km sunrise walk over Adstone Hill before returning for breakfast and saying goodbye.

Accommodation is in shared hostel rooms. Private rooms may be available for a supplement, subject to availability.
Evening meals and the Sunday pub meal are not included.

A moderate level of fitness is required. We take our time, but this is a walking holiday with four walks across consecutive days, including an 18km day on the Long Mynd.
