Join us at NY2CA Gallery for Show & Tell, an exhibition of new work by abstract painter Irene Nelson and ceramic artist Nancy Selvin.Bringing together painting and ceramics, the exhibition explores memory, imagination, material, uncertainty, and the enduring human impulse to make.
Nelson’s abstract paintings emerge from the shifting space between memory and imagination, developing through gesture, color, layering, and intuitive experimentation.
Selvin’s new ceramic, booklike forms take inspiration from the familiar advice “show, don’t tell,” turning toward the tactile, physical, and handmade as meaningful forms of human experience.
Together, the two artists create a conversation about what we understand through making, looking, touching, remembering, and imagining.
