Let’s clear something up: shotguns aren’t just for duck hunters and action movie heroes. They’re for anyone who wants to learn, and they’re a blast to shoot (pun fully intended).
Shotgun Fun 101 is a 4-hour crash course for total beginners and anyone who’s still a little unsure about the shotgun. We’ll take you from “Which end does the shell go in?” to confidently running your shotgun on the range. Along the way, we promise plenty of laughs, a lot of learning, and no judgment.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
✔ Master the safety rules. These are the non-negotiables every shooter lives by.
✔ Learn your gear. We’ll cover how a shotgun works, how to load and unload it, and how to handle it like you’ve been doing it for years.
✔ Nail the fundamentals. You’ll learn stance, mount, aim and follow-through, plus how to tame recoil so your shoulder thanks you.
✔ Meet the ammo family. You’ll shoot birdshot, buckshot and slugs and find out what makes each one unique.
✔ Explore the shotgun world. We’ll cover sport shooting, home defense, and tactical applications so you can see where your new skills can take you.
Whether you’re thinking about home protection, want to try clays with friends, or just want to check something off your bucket list, this is the perfect place to start.
Course Length: 4 hours
Tuition:
- $150 per person: Bring your own shotgun and ammunition
- $225 per person: 1:9 Tactical provides the shotgun and all ammunition
