Part of the world’s biggest little festival, SHORT+SWEET Malaysia is celebrating its sweet 19 this year! SHORT+SWEET Malaysia 2026, which falls in September / October, will feature new works that are 10 minutes or under in six different categories: Film, Stand-up Comedy, Song, Musical, Dance, and Theatre.This year, we’re breaking tradition by hosting a film workshop during the festival, led by Anwar Hadi. With experience writing for acclaimed productions including Riot!, From Saga With Love, and Club Mickey Mouse, Anwar will share practical insights into screenwriting and storytelling to help you craft your own 10-minute masterpiece.

About Anwar Hadi
Anwar has written scripts for shows such as Riot! (Astro Originals), Analisa Anna Lisa (UnifiTV), From Saga With Love (VIU), Club Mickey Mouse (Disney+ Hotstar), SMK, and Lagenda Puteri Qaseh (Astro Ceria). He was also the head-writer for the #1 show on SOOKA: Kau VS Aku (seasons 1 and 2). Anwar has twelve years of experience in making hundreds of videos catered to young adults.
His compulsion to write and tell relatable stories have helped him garner over 5 million views in less than two years through more than a hundred videos for his role as writer, producer and host of the YouTube channel THELAKI. This was after making videos on his own YouTube channel Ini Anwar Hadi, pioneering content creation in the Malaysian YouTube scene. He is also a published author and an anthology editor.
