SHIRLEY VALENTINE by Willy Russell
Produced & Directed by Jack Land Noble
Meet Shirley, a 45-year-old housewife, trapped in a dreary marriage and humdrum life. Wondering where she lost her hopeful, youthful self, she dreams of excitement beyond her grim, suburban role. So, when an unexpected chance to travel to Greece appears, Shirley takes a leap, digs deep into her flagging confidence and discovers that it’s never too late to reclaim your dreams, your joy… and yourself!
An exhilarating one-woman, comic tour-de-force – from the writer of Blood Brothers and Educating Rita – Willy Russell’s masterpiece finally arrives on the Lamproom stage in this specially arranged production – marking the 40th Anniversary of the multi-award-winning play and subsequent Oscar-nominated film.
“Eggs, chips… and a midlife escape plan. Shirley’s finally talking back — to life, love… and the kitchen wall!”
