What is a 5Rhythms® class? A pragmatic answer to what this class is; a lightly guided, specially curated movement meditation, encouraging embodiment and presence. This practice is for all bodies, if you can move you can dance. No choreography required, you create the movement as you go, and I will lightly guide through words and music.
We give space for what is present in our bodies and to connect with our own healing and creativity. We find freedom, expression and permission to be as we are!
For beginners open to learning methods to develop your personal 5Rhythms practice and for seasoned dancers seeking to refine pathways toward this moving meditation.
Created by Gabrielle Roth and practiced by tens of thousands worldwide, 5Rhythms® is a dynamic movement practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself. Movement is both the medicine and the metaphor, reaching across all languages, cultures and age groups to transform suffering into art, art into awareness, and awareness into action. Wherever the 5Rhythms® are practiced, a community is born to dance, to sweat, to change, to support, and to provide a safe space for each of us to shatter the ego's hold and awaken the creative part of ourselves that yearns to be free. We meet most Sundays 11am-12:30pm,
No class June 28 & July 26
Each class counts as 1.5 hours toward teacher training credit.
Class Agreements
● Wear comfortable clothes in which you can move and layers.
● We dance barefoot or dance shoes only (no street shoes)
● Bring a water bottle
● Refrain from wearing heavy perfume and jewelry
● Please turn off your phone and enter in sacred silence
● Bring your compassion and curiosity and keep in mind that you can follow your own pace and honor your energy in the moment
● You are invited to break free of self-consciousness and utilize the chair or lying on the floor
● Ask and get permission before touching or hugging
