Can Better Government Bring World Peace? 🌍🕊️
Some say YES.
They believe most governments want peace. To achieve that goal, many countries have joined the United Nations whose stated mission is, in part, "to maintain international peace and security."
They believe that most people want peace. A survey of about 41 to 42,000 people in 16 to 17 countries revealed widespread support of a world government that would address such issues as war, sickness, and poverty.
But think about this:
Even the best governments cannot eradicate divisive traits from the human heart - selfishness, greed, hatred. That is why conflicts continue.
To Think About:
To achieve world peace, all governments must work together.
Is that likely to happen?
What do recent news events indicate? Wars, Ebola outbreak, economic hardship - all show human government alone cannot give lasting peace.
What The Bible Says...
The Bible shows true world peace will not come from United Nations or better human government, but from God's Kingdom.
Isaiah 9:6 calls Jesus Christ the PRINCE OF PEACE.
Daniel 2:44 says God's Kingdom will crush all other kingdoms and stand forever.
Psalm 46:9 says God makes wars cease to the ends of the earth.
Conclusion:
Better government can reduce problems, but only when CHRIST rules the heart can peace come to the home, Odorengbe, Nigeria and the world.
Today - Come let us pray for peace through Christ!
