Celebrating 75 Years of Faith, Hope, and Service at Sherman Avenue UMC!
This October, Sherman Avenue United Methodist Church, the region’s fastest growing Methodist church, marks a momentous milestone: our 75th Anniversary! For seven and a half decades, our congregation has stood as a beacon of love, justice, and community support.
To honor this legacy of faith in action, we are challenging every church member to dedicate 75 hours of service throughout the month of October. Whether mentoring, volunteering at local shelters, assisting neighbors, or serving within church ministries, let us give back 75-fold to the community that has nurtured us.
Mark your calendars for our special Anniversary Weekend on October 24–25:
• Saturday, October 24 | Domestic Violence Awareness Fashion Show & Dinner 5:30pm-7:30pm: In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, join us for an inspiring evening uniting advocacy, community empowerment, and fellowship over a shared meal.
• Sunday, October 25 | 75th Anniversary Celebration Worship Service: Gather with us in praise and thanksgiving as we reflect on our rich history, celebrate our community impact, and look ahead to the next 75 years of ministry.
We are also running in the Haunted Hustle on the morning of the 24th.
Everything is free and open to the public.
