Enjoy a delicious lunch while hearing from our keynote speaker. Jason R. Thompson is an executive leader, author, entrepreneur, and longtime advocate for social justice. Throughout his career, Jason has worked to challenge the institutional and systemic barriers that prevent people—particularly those from historically underserved and underrepresented communities—from having equitable access to education, employment, leadership, economic opportunity, and the ability to reach their full potential. As an alum and the first black ASUW President Jason has a connection to the University of Wyoming.
For Jason, social justice has never been simply about representation or organizational statements. It is about examining who has access to opportunity, who has a voice in important decisions, who benefits from existing systems, and who may unintentionally be left behind. His work has consistently pushed organizations to move beyond good intentions and toward meaningful, measurable change. Jason is also the author of Diversity and Inclusion Matters, a practical exploration of what it takes to create environments where people with different identities, experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds can succeed.
Across his work—as an executive, author, advisor, entrepreneur, and advocate—Jason has remained committed to bringing people together around difficult issues while refusing to treat inequity as inevitable. His leadership combines a willingness to challenge systems with the practical understanding that sustainable change requires strategy, relationships, accountability, and the courage to have conversations that organizations often avoid.
