About this Event
AI is already changing how our children learn and the careers open to them, yet girls remain underrepresented in computing and AI. Many parents aren’t sure what to encourage, what to worry about or where to start...
Join The Mount School York for a relaxed evening with Dr Beth Lane, who will give you a clear, honest picture of what AI really means for your daughter.
You’ll leave knowing:
- What AI is & how it works in the world around us
- How AI is changing the jobs and skills your daughter will need
- How to help her use critical thinking & analytical judgement in an AI enabled world
- Why the human skills AI can’t replicate matter more than ever.
Dr Beth Lane founded AI in Schools, co-founded the Institute of AI Education and supports Computing at The Mount. She also holds a PhD in applying AI to medical imaging.
The evening closes with an introduction to STEM at The Mount, followed by drinks, canapés and the chance to meet staff & pupils.
Running order: 5:50pm doors and drinks / 6:20pm talk / 6.50pm Q&A / 7:15pm STEM at The Mount with Head, Anna Wilby, drinks & canapés throughout / 8pm close.
