Be Part of History at the First-Ever Shawnee Community Out of the Darkness Walk!We're excited to bring the Out of the Darkness Community Walk to Shawnee for the very first time, and we invite you to be part of this meaningful day of hope, healing, and connection.
Whether you're walking in memory of someone you've lost to suicide, in support of someone living with a mental health challenge, or because you believe every life is worth fighting for, you'll find a welcoming community ready to walk beside you.
Together, we'll raise awareness, honor the lives of those we've lost, support survivors of suicide loss, and remind one another that hope is real and help is available. Every step we take—and every dollar we raise—helps fund suicide prevention education, advocacy, and lifesaving programs right here in Oklahoma.
The Shawnee Community Out of the Darkness Walk is more than a walk—it's a chance to connect with others who care, discover local mental health resources, and be part of a movement that is changing the conversation around mental health and suicide prevention.
Event Schedule
10:00 a.m. – Check-in opens, community resource fair, and activities
11:30 a.m. – Opening ceremony and a special remembrance honoring those we've lost to suicide
Immediately following the ceremony – The Shawnee Community Walk begins!
Whether you come as an individual, with family, friends, coworkers, or as part of a team, your presence matters. Together, we can show our community that no one has to struggle alone and that every life is worth saving.
Registration is free, but it is required.
