About this Event
Some of the best conversations happen around a table. Join your local community for a relaxed evening of good food, friendly faces and conversation about the place we call home.
Living costs are rising, community spaces are disappearing, and it can feel like decisions get made without the local community. But there's another way: communities owning and looking after the places that matter to them, so they stay affordable, community-led and in-use forever!
What to expect
Good Food: Bring a dish, snack or drink to share if you can. If you can't, just bring yourself. There will be plenty for everyone!
Good Conversation: Talk about what's working and what isn't across York, from housing costs to missing community spaces.
Collective Dreaming: Share your ideas for what York needs, whether that's affordable homes, green spaces or a place to meet. What spaces matter to you? What do you want to see more of in York?
Collective Solutions: How can we build solutions to local issues, together? How can community-ownership play a role?
Who is it for?
Everyone. You don't need to know anything about community-ownership.
Children are very welcome, and we'll makesure to have a drawing activity ready! (If you are bringing children along we just ask that you let [email protected] know re numbers)
