Sharing is Caring: Non-Monogamy for Beginners An introduction to consensual non-monogamy - exploring relationship styles, communication, consent, and healthy boundaries.
About this Event

Join Sex Educators Rae Szereszewski & Marisa Swinton for an afternoon beginner friendly workshop exploring different relationship types like open relationships, polyamory, and everything in between. Learn about healthy communication, boundaries, facts vs. myths, and effective relationship management skills.

“Your relationship must be failing”

Have you heard this common myth? We certainly have!

Exploring an open relationship isn’t a desperate attempt to fix a dead bedroom, save a failing marriage, or avoid breaking up.

While many people do explore non-monogamy as a response to relationship challenges, many open up from a place of curiosity, desire, shared values, or simply because monogamy is the cause of the those relationship difficulties.

Who would have guessed this could be complicated?

We did, which is why we are teaching our intro to non-monogamy class this December.

“Open relationships are just permission to cheat”

This is a very popular, and untrue, statement about ethical non monogamy.

Cheating is violating agreed upon relationship boundaries, and in a monogamous context, any intimacy outside your relationship is cheating.

But not in a consensual, non-monogamous relationship. Having multiple intimate partners is part of the deal, not breaking an agreement, and can give you freedom to explore without guilt or shame.

Who would have guessed this could be complicated?

We did, which is why we are teaching our intro to non-monogamy class this December.
