About this Event
Indigenous Foods & Harvest Traditions
Join Chef Destiny, Indigenous food educator and Founder & Executive Chef of FoodZen, for an interactive cooking demonstration exploring Indigenous foods, seasonal ingredients, and harvest traditions. Through food and storytelling, Destiny will share how ingredients from this land connect us to seasonality, sustainability, culture, and community.
Participants will learn approachable ways to incorporate Indigenous ingredients and food philosophies into everyday cooking while enjoying a taste of the dishes prepared. This workshop offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of local foodways, celebrate the harvest season, and connect with others through shared culinary experiences.
Shared Plates: Indigenous Foods & Harvest Traditions is part of an ongoing culinary series that highlights global flavours, cultural traditions, and the joy of cooking together. Each workshop offers a welcoming, hands‑on experience where participants can learn new techniques, explore regional ingredients, and enjoy the stories behind the dishes being prepared.
About Shared Plates
Shared Plates is a culinary demonstration series designed to bring people together through the universal experience of cooking, tasting, and storytelling. Each session features a guest chef who guides participants through the preparation of selected dishes, offering insights into ingredients, techniques, and the traditions or personal experiences that shape their approach to food.
With small‑group sessions that encourage interaction and hands‑on engagement, Shared Plates fosters curiosity, connection, and a deeper appreciation for the role food plays in bringing people together.
