Dance has inspired composers for centuries, from traditional folk dances to the sophisticated waltz and the rhythms of the tango and jazz. Shall We Dance? brings these diverse musical worlds together in an afternoon of music for piano duet.
The program features Dvořák’s beloved Slavonic Dances, Ravel’s swirling La Valse, original tangos by Matthew Harrison, and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue in Harrison’s own arrangement. The program offers music you may know alongside music you are unlikely to hear anywhere else.
Husband-and-wife piano duo Matthew Harrison and Vlada Yaneva bring extensive experience as soloists and collaborative musicians to this unique and engaging program.
