We are baaaaaaaack!! 🍂🙌🥳💃🕺After a summer hiatus, Ecstatic Contact is returning as we welcome fall, the darker half of the year, and an invitation to turn inward.
This month’s theme is 🖤 SHADOW DANCE.🖤
As the seasons shift and the days grow shorter, we are invited to meet the parts of ourselves that may be easier to keep hidden. Rather than pushing those parts away, this evening is an opportunity to approach them with curiosity, loving illumination, and awareness.
Neva will guide us through an hour-long, contact improvisation-inspired opening, where we will explore the parts of ourselves we often keep in the shadows. Beginning with connection to the self, the practice will move through solo, partnered, and group dance explorations, creating space to play with revealing the shadow, meeting it with curiosity, and learning how to dance with what we find.
Following the workshop, Ivan Ortiz will guide us into our Ecstatic Dance journey, where we can continue exploring what we learned in the opening. Contact Improvisation isn't expected, but welcomed.
Ivan is honored to guide dancers into their own interconnectedness and create a safe space to freely and passionately emote.
Highly attuned to the energy of the room, he intuitively crafts experiences that invite participants to journey inward, into presence, emotion, and the depths of their own soul. Expect an experimental, psychedelic, tribal bass experience rooted in atmospheric and spiritual soundscapes. Music that unfolds like a story, inviting you to organically reveal the rhythm, texture, and frequency of your inner world.

Our Guidelines
🦋 No phones. A no phone policy helps us remain present and engaged, so we ask that you keep your phone away during the event. There will occasionally be staff capturing a few moments for the purpose of growing this community and showcasing everyone’s beauty and aliveness.
🦋 The dance floor is a talk free zone, but bring your sighs, cries, and howls!
🦋 Consent is essential. Please receive consent before dancing with someone. Eye contact and a clear “yes,” such as a nod, open gesture, or offered touch, means permission to dance. Looking away or moving away is a clear “no.”
🦋 This is an adult only event.
🦋 Please arrive showered and clean. Avoid strong scented perfumes, colognes, or fragrances on the body, as some members of our community are very sensitive to scents.
