This hill is the most easterly of the Mamore range, situated in a spectacular position above Coire an Lochain.
Start at the Grey Mare’s Tail car park, NN187622. Follow the path that leads to the Waterfall for approximately 200m. At the first junction, keep right, and cross the burn at NN189⁷⁸624²⁹. Climb the path heading NE through trees on a ridge. Emerging from the trees, follow the path across the slopes of Meall an Doire Dharaich to reach a track at NN208634. Cross the track and continue up the path towards Coire an Lochain. Leave the main path at a bend at NN222647 and head NE across the lip of Coire an Lochain.
Continue NE up the lower slopes, curving NW as the ground steepens and climb up the broad SW aspect of Sgurr Eilde Mòr to its summit. Descend steeply W on a rough, meandering path that leads to the col N of the Lochan. At a 4-way junctionᵉˣ, N221⁹⁵656⁸⁰, turn S and follow the path above the lochans for about 1km to re-join the outward route. Follow this back to the start.
